Spent a joyous few days in Porto. Both watching the city enjoy the World Cup and then walking down to the edge of the river to watch fireworks at midnight. It is hard to explain how much fun it is to wander through, getting pelted with plastic hammer, watching (and helping) people light paper lanterns that rise up into the sky (or fall back down).
We showed the kid around. And though she was a bit under the weather we still had a great time. Now we are going down to Nazaré as the kid asked for beach time on her holiday. Sadly no big waves this time of year but should be fun.
–luke, on the road to Nazaré (feels like it should be a song title)
